Study visit in Norway took place in September 2016. It was designed for the representatives of these Polish municipalities, who prepared the most interesting ideas for innovation in the area of energy efficiency and RES use inspired by the Norwegian experience. The agenda of the event included among others:

  • presentation of Norwegian legislation in the area of climate protection and energy production, distribution and consumption (including current challenges and tested solutions);
  • visits to selected Norwegian municipalities (Oslo, Oslo region and neighbouring regions), during which Polish guests will have an opportunity to get familiar with the most interesting good practices and proven, energy-related solutions. Participants of the tour will visit both urban and rural municipalities to check what solutions and technologies are used in different local conditions;
  • presentation of best practices in the area of local policy making - from strategy development till actions implementation;
  • meeting with the representatives of Norwegian municipalities interested in establishing bilateral cooperation with Polish municipalities.

Participation in the study visit and getting practical knowledge of Norwegian sustainable energy solutions helped Polish municipalities in successful implementation of their own innovative projects. The visit was also an opportunity to meet and establish bilateral cooperation with Norwegian municipalities, who would further support their Polish partners in implementation of these project, e.g. by providing on-the-job consultations and many useful tips and suggestions based on their experience.
